I read a little bit about the Montessori system and it sounds like a wonderful approach, especially, if you want to work with "problem" kids. And I think that the combination of this kind of teaching and holistic nutrition will have a huge impact on these children AND their parents.
I admire you! You are not only trying to live a healthy life but help others on the right path as well. That is GREAT. I am glad that I found you. Well, it is your doggies fault. I always fall for the four-legged-barking-kind:)

Yes, Montessori is a wonderful approach, which helps the child develop to his/her highest potential. I'll be posting more about it as I get more involved in the method. I'll be sure to thank Morena for us finding each other!

Oh my dear...if you are tired of answering the same questions over and over again...what are you doing going into teaching!!! LOL. That's what I do ALL. DAY. LONG.

"What page again?" "What did you say?" "When is the test?" "Can we use our notes on the quiz?"

*************

Ahhh, but therein lies the beauty of the Montessori system, Nance. It's all about the child taking control of his/her own learning process. :) And by the way, I don't want to teach long-term. I want to consult with parents and combine Montessori education with holistic nutrition in cases of children with ADD, Autism and other similar imbalances.

Outstanding!

Just curious: What's the book?

***********

It's called "The Absorbent Mind" by Maria Montessori, and it's an insightful, eye-opening explanation of her theories. LOVED IT!

So you're back in school? Welcome to the club! Is it full time? What are you doing? Will you keep working?

**********

Back in school at 31 years young. I'm studying to be a Montessori school teacher, and the schedule is grueling: 9 months of studying from 8am-1pm and then working on weddings from 1pm - 6pm. Then, make dinner, do laundry, walk the dogs, you know the drill... Plus, I might be teaching a bunch of cooking classes! But it's so worth it!

It sounds like you are quite ready for a new career. No matter how much we like what we do in the beginning,it is so easy to get burned out and so great to bring new enthusiasm to our lives.

Indeed it is! I'm so lucky I have this opportunity!
